Job Title: Music Minister/Worship Leader
Hours: 8 to 10 hours per week
Schedule:
· Sunday morning in time to prepare for worship service(s)
· Wednesday evenings:
o 5:30 p.m. Praise Band rehearsal
o 6:30 p.m. Choir rehearsal
· Other hours spent reviewing music, setting up specials, selecting hymns (with worship team), etc. or possible special music with children, youth, bell choir etc.
Salary: Currently based on education, training and experience
Reports to: Pastor
Benefits: Leave/Vacation: 2 Sundays per year arranged with pastor

Duties:
- Have a heart for worship and want to lead others in worshipping our Lord and Savior
- Be committed to Marvin UMC as more than just an employee doing a job
- Lead congregation, choir, praise team in singing for Sunday morning worship service(s)
- Lead congregation, choir, praise team in singing for special worship service(s)
- i.e. Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, etc.
- Select music for worship service(s) in consultation with worship team and pastor
- Plan special music for worship service(s) – set up a weekly choir anthem, praise team special, solo etc.
- Lead Chancel Choir and Praise Team rehearsal on Wednesday nights – This includes
- Selecting and learning new music to use in worship service(s)
- Prepare arrangements and sheet music copies for them
- Maintain Christian Copyright License Inc. Church Copyright Requirements (CCLI#) on all copyright material used
- Present Handbell specials
- Plan, practice and direct Cantatas for Easter and/or Christmas
- Attend Worship Team meetings for planning worship service(s)
- Attend Church Council Meeting
- Work with Children’s Committee in preparing children’s music – as needed
- Work with Vacation Bible School Coordinator regarding music
- Additional Requirements or duties: requests made by Pastor for the care and support of the ministry.
