Prayers and Squares Quilting-seasonal
Our prayer quilt ministry is a group of ladies who pray - and make quilts, too. The quilts are “old-fashioned” tied quilts. Each knot on the quilt represents a prayer for the recipient made by a church member. Quilters and non-quilters alike are invited to join. There is something for everyone to do!
Food Pantry
Marvin UMC hosts a community food pantry as an outreach to feed the body as well as the soul. We provide families with short term assistance in the form of canned and dry goods, and provide them with information on Rankin County resources for long term assistance.
We gratefully accept non-perishable food donations, baby food, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, baby diapers, and other toiletries.
FAM (Florence Area Ministerial Association) sponsors Thanksgiving and Easter Sunrise Worship Services. An offering for a community benevolence fund is recieved at these two services to help those in need in our community.

Samaritan’s Heart accepts donations of clean children’s, men’s, and women’s clothing in good wearable condition, as well as shoes, purses, belts and other clothing accessories. They also accept small decorative household and kitchen items, household linens, toys and bric-a-brac.

Mother's Morning Out
Every mother needs a morning out! It is our goal, as caregivers, to support parents on the journey of raising children. We welcome you to experience the joy of knowing that your child is in a safe, loving environment while you tend to the needs of caring for your family and yourself!
MMO is for one year old up to pre-kindergarten age and provides pre-school level education, snacks, play-time with friends, music and much more. MMO meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9am-1pm. Early room is available at 8am if you would like to drop your child off a little early. You do not have to be a member of Marvin UMC to participate in MMO but we would love for you to visit.
